Tom Balvanz was recently announced Iowa Motor Truck Association's Dispatcher of the Year. To be nominated for this award you must possess tremendous communication and leadership skills, which Tom is very much known for. The nominees are also recognized for their low turnover rates within his/her fleets, a low percentage of out of service violations within their fleet, and a low percentage of unexcused late deliveries. Tom has excelled in all three categories as well as his excellent rapport with customers.

Tom has been with Warren Transport since March of 1986 and has been a dispatcher for a total of 39 years and currently dispatches over 150 drivers. His main duties at WTI include coordinating, soliciting, and aligning key customer shipments and contracting drivers with pickups and deliveries, as well as training new dispatchers.

Tom received his award at the IMTA annual meeting that was held on September 20, 2006 at the West Des Moines Sheraton.
