The Iowa Motor Truck Association recently held their 2003 Annual Meeting and
Awards Banquet on September 11th. The meeting centered on "The Best of the Best" of which 2 of
our contractors were chosen as finalists (a total of 12 were chosen) in the Outstanding
Professional Driver contest and one of our dispatchers was chosen as a finalist in the
Outstanding Dispatcher contest (a total of 5 were chosen). The following is the information on
each individual and the award that they received.
Jeff Heideman was one of the five finalists chosen as outstanding dispatchers. He received an
Outstanding Dispatcher Award.
Daniel L. Beber received an Outstanding Professional Driver award and also was chosen as the Iowa
Motor Truck Association Driver of the Year for 2003. Dan enjoys fishing and other outdoor activities.
He as been driving for 43 years and over 3.2 million miles with zero accidents of which the last
fifteen years he has been leased with Warren. Dan hauls freight on our specialized/machinery
division. Dan was also a finalist in the TCA National Independent Contractor of the Year contest
in 2000 and placed 8th place that year.
Charles V. Parrish received an Outstanding Professional Driver award as well and was one of the
twelve finalists for the 2003 IMTA Driver of the Year. Charlie enjoys hunting, fishing and doing
activities at his church. Charlie has been driving for twenty-three years, leased to Warren for
the last twelve, and has acquired over 2.3 million miles with zero accidents. Charlie hauls freight
for our van division. Charlie was also a finalist in the TCA National Independent Contractor of
the Year contest in 2002, taking 4th place.
